Millenium Development Goal 2: Achieve Universal Primary Education

It takes a village to raise a child. ~ African Proverb

We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free. ~ Epictetus

Establishing lasting peace is the work of education; all politics can do is keep us out of war. ~ Maria Montessori

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. ~ Nelson Mandela
I believe that education is a basis for all the Millenium Development Goals. Education does not only help individuals, but the world as a whole. Because we can only change what we are informed about, the world would be a much better place if everyone had an education. Every person has the right to an educaiton and it is the only thing that cannot be taken away from you.
Songs:
Barry Manilow: I Am Your Child
Michael Jackson: Heal the World
Barbra Streisand: Children Will Listen
We as a world need to come together to provide education to all children, and adults, so that we can insure a better future for our children. We live today, in a world of war and terror. For many children, today’s world is all that is known. If we educate our children of today, we will help to create a more peaceful world for their children. The educated have opportunity. Education frees people. It provides opportunity. It can and will change our world.
