Roth reunites with Halen

David Lee Roth and Van Halen are reported to reunite for a 40-date amphitheater tour this summer.

"I see it absolutely as an inevitability," Roth said, “To me, it's not rocket surgery. It's very simple to put together.

The band, headed for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, parted ways with Roth in 1985 and last performed together in 1996.

I noticed that the lead in this story didn’t have the straight facts like a hard-news story would have.

Fire in Oakdale home

Burning trailer home in Oakdale Saturday morning leaves 61-year-old man dead.

Authorities said the man tried to escape his home but wasn’t fast enough.

Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen but they don’t yet know the cause of the fire. Oakdale police have yet to release the victim’s name.

3M chemicals in groundwater

Investigators search for source of groundwater contamination in the east metro. The contamination in the drinking water comes from chemicals once manufactured by 3M.

Extended searching will take place in the next two weeks to find the source of the pollution.

“We believe the first step in taking care of what's in the environment is to determine where it's coming from," 3M spokesman Bill Nelson said.

I noticed that the lead for this story created major curiosity to read more about this pollution problem.

If we are killed, you will be killed.

A video released Monday by al Qaeda showed Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden’s chief aide, threatening American troops.

The treat comes after President George W. Bush’s plan to increase troop involvement in Iraq by 20,000.

"If we are secure, you might be secure, and if we are safe, you might be safe. And if we are struck and killed, you will definitely -- with Allah's permission -- be struck and killed," al-Zawahiri said.
