Discussion question for last week

think that people naturally feel bad for people with disabilities. My sister has epilepsy and she hardly tells anyone because she doesn't want them to treat her different. Is a main reason that they are misrepresented in the media because disabled people naturally evoke emotion that may not be otherwise intended or wanted?

I actually just wrote my essay on this relationship between disabilities being represented in media and the affect that it has on social representation and ideologies. I wrote on the show Breaking Bad, Walter White is diagnosed with cancer and doesn't want anyone to know of his illness because as soon as people find out they instantly pity him or give him emotion that he does not desire. I feel that this is a common theme among anyone with an illness.
