Excel2LaTeX does not work on Mac Office 2008 but there is a similar utility that works in NeoOffice; in fact, it is superior to the original Excel version. It is called Calc2LaTeX.

The screenshots of Cal2LaTeX look really tempting. I am sure to give it a try.
