A helpful book review about GWR
This is a great review about the book, Geographically Weighted Regression: The Analysis of Spatially Varying Relationships. In a few pages, the review explains basic concepts of GWR, topics that are related, as well as common critics of method. The reviewer, David O’Sullivan, considers some discussions in the book as “over-reaching” but kindly accept them as “an understandable desire” to make a case for the importance and applicability of GWR.
The standard software of Geographically Weighted Regression comes with a cost. I will instead use the spgwr package in R. Another way to try GWR is through SAM, which is free and user-friendly, just like GeoDa. I am still experimenting with them, and may post additional information along the process.
